Lucid Glazing Systems

Working across different types of projects in Ghana and neighbouring countries like Côte d’Ivoire has taught us that aluminium and glazing work is never one-dimensional. Each site comes with its own challenges, expectations, and environmental conditions.

For example, a residential project in Cantonments is very different from a fuel station installation in Takoradi or a commercial development in Abidjan. Even though the materials may look similar, the demands placed on them are not the same.

On fuel station projects, for instance, durability and constant usage are key. Doors are opened and closed repeatedly throughout the day, often by different users. In those environments, even small installation errors become noticeable very quickly. That is why reinforcement and proper alignment are critical.

In residential developments, the focus shifts more toward aesthetics and comfort. Homeowners want smooth sliding doors, clean finishes, and large glass openings that bring in natural light while still maintaining privacy and security.

One of the most important lessons we’ve learned is that site conditions matter just as much as material quality. Dust levels, exposure to sea air, structural alignment of the building, and even how frequently a system will be used all influence how we design and install aluminium systems.

In Abidjan, for example, some residential projects required additional sealing considerations due to heavy seasonal rainfall patterns. In Accra, we often deal with heat expansion and long-term sun exposure affecting certain installations if not properly accounted for.

This is why we never approach projects as “standard installations.” Every job begins with understanding the structure, usage, and environment before fabrication even starts.

Over time, this approach has helped us build strong relationships with clients who value reliability over shortcuts. Many of our repeat clients now consult us before finalizing architectural decisions, because they know small technical choices early on can affect long-term performance.

At Lucid Glazing Systems, we believe good aluminium work is not just about installation — it is about understanding how buildings behave in real life.
